Sustainability and well-being are the guiding principles behind the design of the new Rome headquarters of the international law firm Bird & Bird.
The project spans two floors of a historic Roman building. One entire floor is dedicated to the firm’s professionals, featuring a layout that includes collaborative work areas, private offices exclusively for partners, as well as relaxation spaces, lounge areas, and break zones. The client area is designed separately, offering a reimagined version of the traditional meeting rooms.
The workspace alternates between open areas with technical Herman Miller desks, which are height-adjustable and bookable on a rotating basis, and phone booths—both open and enclosed—lined with sound-absorbing felt in different colors. Meanwhile, the common and client areas feature custom-made furnishings with a more domestic feel, complemented by oak meeting tables and True Design seating.
